Some Fantastic Strategies to make more sales

Sales Person work very hard for generate sales and earn money. What is the number one cause of this frustration? From our research the number one cause is the lack of systematic follow-up systems. Here are some statistics on sales and follow-up.

Now why are so many sales made on follow-up touches? The simple reason is that in sales many times your prospects are not ready to buy when you first approach them or when they approach you. There are a multitude of reasons for this but some of the reasons are because they are either 1) starting the investigation process or shopping 2) have no pain and do not see the need for your product or service, or 3) cannot afford your product or service currently. The simple fact is your target market are not all buying now. So by incorporating a follow-up marketing system you will capture more market share, because few people do this effectively.

Many times people start thinking about buying a product or service, and then it takes them a few months to do so. So this person shops around looking at his or her options. What happens many times is that a few sales people educate the prospect on his or her options, and then if the prospect does not buy right now, then the salesperson moves on. This is where fortunes can either be won or lost.

So how do you do proper follow-up and how does proper follow-up work? There are several things that must be included. First, you need to nurture this prospect and build a relationship with him or her.

Second, you must educate your prospect on the options he or she has. Educating your prospect positions you above your competition because your competition will not take the time to educate your prospect.

And then finally, you need to do this via multiple media. Email is great, but email is becoming ever more cluttered. So you need to incorporate thank you notes, letters, email, faxes and phone calls. All these are essential in having this all work correctly.

Now some people, at first glance, might think this is a lot of work. But a person who comes into your store or a person who takes the time to seek you out who is interested in your product or service is a serious person. Many times you can double your sales if you just implement a basic follow-up system.

So ultimately the answer comes down to economics. And for those people who think it is expensive to follow-up you must ultimately ask yourself what the cost is to get someone to raise their hand or come into your store in the first place. Many times getting people interested and to come in is the most expensive task, and following up will be significantly less expensive and yield as much, or an even greater return on investment.
